The Begining

From the time I was little I have always wanted to be a mom. I didn't dream about being a doctor, or a lawyer, I dreamt about being a mom. And I'm living my dream. I am a mom, a mom to 6 wonderful kids. I love being a mom. It is more rewarding and wonderful then anything I could ever have imagined. I can still remember the day when my first baby was born. I held her in my arms alone in the hospital room that evening. I couldn't believe this tiny person was mine. She was a part of me and she always would be. I was over come with love like I had never felt before.
Just as motherhood is filled with incredible highs it is filled with incredible lows. It is tremendously hard, demanding, and at times  frustrating. I had no idea how hard motherhood was going to be. When I was young and envisioning my life as a mother I pictured all the wonderful good things about being a mom, the hugs and kisses, the sweet little baby to cuddle.

Motherhood can be overwhelming because it is never ending. We do the same thing day in and day out, without what we may feel to be any positive results. The kids still argue, the dishes need washing again and again, it seems that there are never enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished.

I think one of the keys to finding joy in motherhood is to look for and recognize those small, joy filled moments that happen every day.

"...the joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction."    --Daughters of God  Elder M. Russell Ballard

I'm starting this blog to record those moments of joy.  Time passes so quickly and my children are growing up so fast.  In no time at all I know they are going to be grown and gone, and all I will have left of these years are the memories.   I  love being a mom and I don't want those little moments to pass by largely unnoticed.  My goal is to record 1000 moments before next Mother's day.   Want to join me?  Leave me a comment and I will add your blog address to my sidebar.
