Gone to the Birds

Eggs: 5-7, white with fine brown markings

Incubation: 11-13 days; male and female incubate and feed young

Food: insects, seeds, fruit; comes to seed and suet feeders

Name comes from its familiar "chika-dee-dee-dee-dee" call. Builds nest mostly with green moss and lines it with animal fur. Backyard bird that is attracted to a nest box or seed feeder. Usually the first to find a new feeder.
Can be easily tamed and hand fed.

Love, love, love the posts! I miss my neighbors bird feeder now. I love that your kids tell you what they want to study. I love their self portraits, and I can't believe Mya is already one. I'm almost overwhelmed. JK but miss ya lots!
