Cold Monday

Go away cold weather. We don't like you. My upstairs has been cold since you came last Sunday. -45 and colder for a week is long enough. Last week Husband had to put more air in my tires because it was so cold the pressure went down. On the last tire the valve stem broke off and he had to change a tire in -50 temperatures. It's annoying having to start your car every couple of hours to let the engine warm up, and it's costing me a fortune for gas. One day I didn't start my car often enough and then it wouldn't start. Husband spent New Year's Eve trying to get my car to start instead of going to see the fireworks in town. His truck just doesn't get warm enough when it is this cold, for us to take 3 little girls in. Also, Husband has to spend so much time every evening bringing firewood in the house for the next day. Thanks husband, but I feel like I don't get to see him any more. And I am starting to go stir crazy in the house. I don't want to go out much by myself with 3 little girls. It's just too hard when it's so cold.
And then today you did the worst thing of all. You froze our drain pipe up and all the water from 2 loads of laundry ended up on the floor. I used all of the towels in the house to dry up the water and then I still had to get out the shop vac. Not fun. I'm glad it was laundry water, don't get me wrong it could have been much worse but we had to call the pumping and thawing guy. We had to pay him $125.00/hr. (Good thing it only took him an hour.) We don't like you. Go away. I'm dreaming of the day when it will warm up to -20. Wouldn't that be nice. See I'm not too picky. It's not like I'm asking for 20 degrees or anything.

So, we are drinking our cares away tonight with a fruit smoothie, apparently the more you wear the better it tastes. Who knew?

For those of you who don't live here, do you realize that if you have 45 degree weather and I have -45 degree weather that's a difference of 90 degrees.
