Things I forgot

Where did my brain go. I have had 5 other babies and my last one was born just 21 months ago, but already there were so many things that I had forgotten about having a new baby. Here is a list:
1. I forgot how much laundry is generated by this tiny little person.
2. I forgot how often they want to eat. I feel like I am spending all of my time sitting on the couch feeding her. I am enjoying every minute of it though. I have decided that God planned it so that they would need to be held and feed every 2 hours so that we would have to spend a lot of time holding them and cuddling them while they are this little because they grow up to darn quick.
3. I forgot that you really don't' get any sleep at night.
4. I forgot that the other kids turn into little monsters that you don't recognize while your parents are here visiting.
5. I forgot how wonderful it is to have your mom come visit and wait on you hand and foot.
6. I forgot why it is that new moms should only wear sweats. (I got some new clothes, so I would have something to fit into, and 20 min. after I put on my new favorite shirt, I was sitting on the couch changing her diaper, and talking on the phone, when she pooped. She pooped all over her sister and all over my new shirt. I couldn't even scream because I was on the phone with someone that wanted to talk to my husband who wasn't' here, so I was trying not to scream while I was trying to take a message and at the same time trying to wipe poop off of my new shirt with a wet wipe, and hoping no more was on it's way out. No more favorite shirt at home.)
7. I forgot that even though you think you are so skinny now, and you feel so skinny, you don't look at all skinny. My 7 year old asked me if I had another baby in my tummy.
8. I forgot how you worry at every little hiccup and cough, and about how dirty everyone's hands are that touch her.
9. I forgot how wonderful new babies smell.
10. I forgot that holding a new baby is about the most wonderful thing in the whole wide world.

Mya is beautiful, congratulations! With this post I did go "Ahh" and then laugh, mostly about being pooped on! Hunter did that to Rikk in a parking lot and I was laughing so hard I couldn't help and Rikk was shaking poop off his arm. But it was a great post that made me think back, thanks so much!

Kim, Mya is beautiful! Congratulations! I had forgotten a lot of those same new baby things, and I totally agree that holding a new baby is the best thing ever! A new discovery I've had this time is how HUGE your previous child suddenly seems after holding the new baby! I can't wait to see yours in person.
